Do It Right

Kiwis have taken a number

Two ticks.
Done right.

On 7 November 2026 you get two votes. Used carelessly, they overlap. Used right, they stack. Find your electorate, see exactly where your two ticks go, and take your number.

Or browse all 71 electorates →

    Three moves. Thirty seconds.

    Find your electorate

Boundaries changed for 2026, so check even if you think you know. Type it in above or browse the list.

    Lock in your two ticks

Electorate vote: the National candidate. Party vote: ACT or New Zealand First — your pick. That's the whole plan.

Take a number. Make it loud.

You get a number, not a name tag. Share the card, move the count, pull the next voter in.

    Why split the ticket?

The electorate vote is a local race

It's first past the post: one right candidate has to beat one left candidate, street by street. In seat after seat, the right's strongest runner wears blue. Every blue seat held is a seat the left can't have.

The party vote is the national race

Parliament's balance follows the party vote. A party vote for ACT or New Zealand First lands inside the same coalition — and it keeps every partner strong enough to matter. Nothing wasted, nothing spare.

Same team. Two engines. Run both. The longer answer →

If we all do it right

Take today's polling mix, apply the split — party votes flowing to ACT and New Zealand First while National's candidates hold the 43 electorates they won last time — and the map redraws itself. National's electorate wins outrun its share, so Parliament grows to 141 seats and the line to govern moves to 71. The right lands 78.

A scenario, not a prediction: seats computed with the real MMP maths — Sainte-Laguë, the 5% / electorate-seat threshold, and overhang. Assumes National holds 43 electorates and Te Pāti Māori five. Polls move; the plan doesn't. Run your own numbers at election2026.nz.
